My mom has excellent health insurance. Her cardiologist recommended a statin after her cholesterol rose from 160 to 170. She didn't want to take it, but her GP wrote a prescription on the cardiologist's advice. My mom has always had low blood pressure and a series of tests revealed no evidence of heart disease. Nevertheless, Mom thinks doctors know best, so she started taking the statin, which did lower her already low cholesterol a little but also may have caused her muscle pain and fatigue, common side effects of statins. Her dosage has been cut in half, and I have been urging her to get weaned off the stuff. As long as she is on the statin, the cardiologist insists on seeing her periodically for checkups.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3869680.post-73075186609165566362009-10-15T10:51:17.426+09:002009-10-15T10:51:17.426+09:00Btw, I don't know if you've gotten your sw...Btw, I don't know if you've gotten your swine flu vaccine shot yet, but I think I'll wait to get my inoculation once I've seen that Malia and Sasha and Joe Biden's grand-kids have gotten theirs.

However, I will get my regular flu shot as I do every year. I mean what's the death toll between the two for this year again--the regular flu wins in a landslide.John from Daejeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08431973044799010218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3869680.post-2934275207539378622009-10-14T22:32:32.836+09:002009-10-14T22:32:32.836+09:00Wasn't there something in the news about the S...Wasn't there something in the news about the Swiss going to insert ID chips into all of its citizens, or was it that their pharmaceutical companies were going to manufacture them for implantation into U.S. citizens?

Why can't DNA just be used as our de facto form of ID after all? It would do away with all sorts of paper documentation (passports, driver's licenses, marraige licenses, etc.). Everything tied to a quick cheek swab.John from Daejeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08431973044799010218noreply@blogger.com
