July 27, 2007

Moviegoers who paid $13.75 per ticket to see "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" (or something like that), were treated to a teaser trailer announcing a Simpsons movie, scheduled to premiere on July 27, 2007.

From
this link, here is a description (warning, this contains spoilers) of the twenty-five-second clip:
A giant "S" appearing on the screen... but this isn't Superman.

"Leaping his way onto the silver screen," says a narrator, "the greatest hero in American history!"

It's then that an underwear-clad Homer Simpson appears, sitting on his couch, and says, "I forgot what I was supposed to say."

The narrator adds, "The Simpsons Movie,' coming to the screen, July 27, 2007."

"Uh, oh," says Homer, "we better get started."
I just hope that the movie is as inspired as the earlier seasons, and doesn't get too much into the whacky humor that was prevalent for a number of years, until about 2004 or 2005.

UPDATE:
This one's for Space Nakji: the trailer in question can be found, among other places,
right here.
