"Nobody ever says Italy."

France just can't get a break with the Chinese. The embers have just now died out from the last time the angry pitchfork-wielding mob burned down* all the Carrefour megastores and Renault dealerships in Shanghai. Now the angry cyber minions are all set to boycott French products once again.

Why? Because new French president Sarkozy has invited the Dalai Lama to Paris. This is what the Walmart of Europe gets for leaving Korea

Well, if there is any clandestinely organized mob violence by Chinese nationals again, I hope they confine it to their own country this time.

* Metaphorically, that is (and it's the mob that's angry, not the pitchforks). In fact, I don't think anything actually burned down. To see real nationalist/xenophobic action against a building-cum-national-symbol, you need to see the U.S. embassy in Beijing circa 1999, after the American military accidentally bombed the Chinese embassy in Belgrade (story here and here).
