Southern California finder #2011-02

  1. Yup. Before the big fire there this isolated Mickey D's in the middle of the desert was supposedly the second largest McDonsld's in the world.

    It was THE stop for Southern Californians needing to load up and/or dump on the way to/from Las Vegas. It's still pretty crowded but there's a lot more competition there in Barstow (near the midpoint of the journey) as well as in Victorville and Baker, which is truly the middle of nowhere.

  2. Yup. Before the big fire there this isolated Mickey D's in the middle of the desert was supposedly the second largest McDonald's in the world. It was near Barstow Station so they snagged some dining cars and made a theme of sorts.

    It was THE stop for Southern Californians needing to load up and/or dump on the way to/from Las Vegas. It's still pretty crowded but there's a lot more competition there in Barstow (near the midpoint of the journey) as well as in Victorville and Baker, which is truly the middle of nowhere.
