With standards like this, they'd have to block out half the Internet

Britain's Home Secretary has released sixteen of twenty-two names on their "blacklist," people who are banned from entering Britain because they are "hate promoters" (this is where "monger" just sounds so much punchier). 

Amidst religious zealots from Islam and Judaism are the pastor of the controversial Westboro Baptist Church (famous for the "God hates fags" placards) and his daughter, as well as conservative talk show host Michael Savage, whose real name is Michael Alan Weiner. The reason for barring this "controversial daily radio host":

Considered to be engaging in unacceptable behaviour by seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence.

I've only heard Michael Savage's show a few times, the most recent time while driving through Victorville. He was talking about how migrant farm workers shouldn't complain about their work conditions because their occupation gives them healthy exercise and fresh air. Yes, he was serious.

At any rate, I didn't listen long enough to hear anything that spread hate, only ignorance. But the man has so much of it, it makes sense he'd try to spread it around. Zing! (Yeah, that's so 2007, but I don't care.)
