Stupogance paying off to the tune of $1 million

America's favorite accidental tourists, CurrentTV journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee, have apparently been offered upwards of $1 million from publisher Harper-Collins for their "warts and all" story. The bidding continues, but it's not too late to join the betting pool. Just not for profit

Oh, yeah: Don't buy this book. The stupidity and arrogance (stupogance™!) exhibited by these two and their colleague Mitch Koss put others' lives at risk, not just by plugging up that porous part of the border, but also because they apparently carried videotaped interviews of North Korean refugees hiding in China with them when they deliberately crossed into North Korea.

To put it bluntly: There are people who are suffering because of them, including almost certainly people who were tortured and/or killed.

Do not buy this book.

UPDATE:
Time to do a book title pool. I vote "134 Days of the Conned Girls." That's all my jet-lagged brain can come up with right now.

  1. You misspelled "stupogance™" in the post title.

  2. Yikes! I would like to write off such an error to having had only about six hours of sleep over the past 48 hours (owing to getting ready to travel and then the travel itself), but my own stupogance often leads me to not spell-checking my own posts. Dogbert used to say I was the epitome of ignorance and arrogance.

  3. So, Dogbert thought it was ignogance?

    Word verification: 'blessi'

I think that's a sign that I had to comment...
