The Korean War in Kodachrome

Marines near Pusan rest before going to battle again.
Note the lack of fast-food-fed fatties.

I don't know how I missed this a year ago, but Seoul Selection (The Marmot's day job) had a lengthy feature on the work of NBC's Korean War correspondent John Rich and the rich color photographs he took back in the day.

I had mentioned his work in an earlier post back in 2008. The one of him typing away on the roof of the press building looks like it might have been snapped just a few years ago from just about any Yongsan-gu neighborhood.

Mr Rich is going strong in Maine at the age of ninety-three. Perhaps I should write him a letter and see if he needs any help identifying locations from back then.
