Korea demography reader (April 6, 2010 edition)

• An increase in foreign nationals leads to an unexpected jump in South Korea's population. A similar story is found in the Joongang Daily, where the White foreigner has gotten rhinoplasty. 

• Korea's gender-based income gap is the largest in the OECD.

• In what sounds like an extreeeeeeeemely self-serving poll, the Corea Image Communication Institute (boo on that name!) says that Koreans' "amiable nature" is what drew foreign spouses to them. CICI did acknowledge that 45 percent of those surveyed (only one hundred) had parents who did not assent to their marriage.
