The KT asks if racism is serious in Korea

And the answer is yes.

Maybe not as bad in some places but worse than others, maybe less violent than certain spots, maybe in more insidious ways than in some other spots, maybe more deeply rooted in national narrative than some other countries.

But none of those other countries really matter because South Koreans can only really do something about racism — that is, they can take responsibility for racism to effect a change — only in South Korea. Not being the most racist is no defense whatsoever.
