Yellow Peril

For the love of all that is good and holy, just stay the heck indoors today. That was the advice we got during stage-2 smog alerts

The so-called Yellow Dust (hwangsa, 황사) is upon Korea again. But it's not as bad as in China [left: Lanzhou], where it's so bad it's getting front-page international coverage.

If it makes you feel any better, in Honolulu we occasionally have vog (volcano + fog). That's noxious sulfur dioxide leaking off the volcanoes on the Big Island. Also known as Pele's farts (not true, but it should be).

UPDATE:
The BBC, Joongang DailyAP, and Wall Street Journal are also carrying the story.
