Nokia seeks Kia

I know this is little more than a commercial promotion by the matchmaking agency, but why not? From the Korea Times:
Sofia Lumme, 21, recently registered with the nation's largest matchmaking firm, Sunoo (www.couple.net), to find her soul mate in Korea. She is now on a temporary visit to Korea for a project.

She has worked as a fashion model since the age of 12 and any man registered on its Web site and who has no difficulty communicating in English can be a candidate, Sunoo said.

"Her Prince Charming doesn't have to be a rich man but a well-rounded and gentle guy. She values character most," a spokesman said.
[kushibo coughs and raises his hand] I'm not married.

Seriously, Sofia, if you can (a) speak Korean well enough, say, to get around Seoul on your own and (b) hold an intelligent conversation (in English) about, say, how Korea can reverse its low fertility trend or what South Korea can do to mitigate the humanitarian crisis in North Korea, I'll marry you. And I come with my own apartment.

UPDATE:
Well, if Antti is right (and he usually is), this is a hoax. She's a faux Finn. A fairly foxy faux Finn, but a faux Finn nonetheless.

    Kush,

That's the line you use AFTER... she's had a couple of drinks... ;)

  2. I copy my comment on this from the Marmot's Hole:

Noticed this yesterday. The Korean-language news gave very little que of the supposed family name, but this pretty much confirms my initial thought that this is a hoax or some other kind of BS. Google Sofia Lumme. Nothing except for this registration at Sunoo. The Korean-language “article” in Chosun said she’d be working for Paparazzi model agency in Finland. Here’s the only model called Sofia in that agency. Her last name is Morelius – and here’s the hockey link – she’s the girlfriend of Jarkko Ruutu of Ottawa Senators.

Anyway, it’d be pretty unconceivable that a Finnish 21-year model would place such an ad in any dating agency, Korean or other. And look at the wallpaper in the picture. Makes you think of a huge country between Finland and Korea…

Anyone fancy a sociological analysis of this case?

    Ah, crap.

Double crap. I like the original Sofia better.

Unlikely but not inconceivable. I knew a very attractive twenty-something who, after a very bad breakup with a long-term boyfriend, practically decided to marry the next guy she met who had a college degree and could make her laugh at least once and make her go "Hmm..." at least once in the first fifteen minutes of meeting him (but she didn't tell him about the test).

Ah, crap. I've been taken in by the fake Russian bride thing... again!

Kushibo is lonely for hot-looking blondes?
